Mr. Ahmed Mohmoud Omar is a highly accomplished professional with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in governance and the education sector. He was born in Dhahar Sanaag, Puntland, Somalia.
He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Management and Administration from an Islamic university in Uganda, where he gained valuable insights into leadership and organizational development.
He completed a postgraduate diploma in monitoring and evaluation at the Makerere Institute of Business and Management in Kampala, enhancing his expertise in project assessment and performance evaluation.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health and Biology/Chemistry from East Africa University, he brings a strong foundation in health sciences and community development to his work.
He has held various roles across multiple institutions, including serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Education and the Dean of the Faculty of Marine Science at East Africa University Bosaso. Additionally, I have worked as a senior lecturer at Red Sea University, taught in secondary schools, and gained experience at LAS Petroleum Company in Uganda.
His interdisciplinary background equips him with a holistic understanding of societal needs and effective strategies for addressing them.
In addition to his academic achievements, and work experiences Ahmed serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Puntland Electoral Commission, where he plays a pivotal role in ensuring transparent and fair electoral processes. His leadership and commitment to democratic principles contribute to the promotion of democratic governance and civic engagement in the region.
